Connecting your MT5 account
Add an MT5 account with its login, password and server — and what the connection states mean.
Updated
You connect a MetaTrader 5 account by giving RobotCopier its login, password and broker server — the same three details your MT5 terminal uses.
Steps
- Go to Accounts → Add account on your dashboard.
- Enter the MT5 login (account number), the password, and the server
name exactly as your broker lists it (e.g.
MyBroker-LiveorMyBroker-Demo). - Save. The account first shows Connecting while RobotCopier logs in and reads your symbols and balance, then switches to Connected.
Tips
- Use the investor (read-only) password for a master you only want to read from, or the main password for an account that needs to place trades (any follower).
- Server names are case-sensitive and must match your broker's list exactly — a wrong server is the most common cause of a failed connection.
- Your credentials are encrypted at rest and are never shown again after saving.
