How trade copying works

How RobotCopier sizes volume to each follower, maps symbols across brokers, and mirrors stops and closes.

Updated

When a master places a trade, RobotCopier copies it to each linked follower — but it doesn't just blindly repeat the same numbers. It adapts each trade to the follower.

Volume (lot sizing)

Copied volume is scaled to the follower and then snapped to the follower broker's volume rules (minimum lot, lot step, maximum lot) so an order is never rejected for an invalid volume. You choose the sizing mode per relationship (e.g. proportional to balance, or a fixed multiplier).

Symbols

Brokers name instruments differently. RobotCopier automatically resolves common differences (for example EURUSD+ on the master to EURUSD on the follower). Where names differ in a way it can't infer (for example BTCUSDT vs BTCUSD, or US500 vs SPX500), you add an explicit symbol mapping — the copy either uses your mapping or fails clearly; it will never open the wrong instrument.

Stops, targets and closes

Stop-loss and take-profit are mirrored, and closes/partial-closes on the master are reproduced on the follower. Every copy — success or failure — is journaled with a receipt so nothing is dropped silently.
